"Semo," I mean Sammy

Who can believe this boy is sitting up? Wasn't he just a newborn, almost unable to keep his eyes open, with the highest pitched cry I've ever heard? Now he's grown into such a big kid. He loves books and really looks at them and takes time to play with and turn the pages. His favorite toy is my pony tail and the poor guy got both of his bottom teeth on the same day last week. He is a giggle factory when his dad comes home from work and looks at him as if to say, "Come on! Do Something funny! What funny thing are you going to do next?" He is the most adorable little baby and it's absolute magic when his eyes light up.

We've started calling him "Nemo" because one of his eyes looks like it's lazy. Can you see what I mean when compared to M's eyes in this picture? His eyes never seem to be looking at the same thing. It's now known as his "lucky eye" and we're waiting for an appointment at Children's Hospital with a good ophthalmologist. Wanna know how many attempts before I spelled that correctly? It makes him even more precious to us and we hope he can fully see this beautiful world around him.

I've had the car this week (I guess it's still only Tuesday) and we went out for 1 hour yesterday. It was enough to delay the afternoon nap one hour and throw the babies into utter exhaustion. They went down for the night around 10pm and so we ate hamburgers and corn on the cob for dinner at about 10:15.
My friend with 3 year old twins says the first year is pretty much spent at home, and then the whole potty training phase is pretty much at home too. I guess that gives us a one year window to paint the town red! Good thing I have two energetic helpers! We'll do a lot more exploring and they will eventually learn to nap out of their cribs.

I love his lucky eye, as my sweet hubby had a lazy eye as a wee one--so endearing. And he had big thick glasses and was so small! He's an identicle twin, and his bro did not have that problem, although his bro wears contacts now and my hubby does not--go figure! I am potty training and after one day of being bound to the messy, not finished unpacking home--nay--the bathroom of said home--I wanted to cry last night. There is something to be said for napping in the crib though, as I am able to squander my alone time blogging while he is down!

OK, he IS darn cute! But, "most adorable little baby"? I'd call it a tie with his brother! :) Oh, wait... I mean MY baby is the most adorable little baby! But she's a girl, so we'll call Alice the most adorable GIRL baby. There. It is all settled.

Last night at my mom's house I was looking at the photo albums from their mission. There were pictures of you and me as babies. Does Sammy look like you? You were a cute baby, too!

Well, I should be the envious one, it looks like you get to stay home with your boys...I have to work 4 hours a week. Aahhh...to live in southern California!! I will check your blog often...

I promise the adventures get bigger and better as they grow older! And stepping out in to the world after being at home with babies makes everything look and feel like Christmas! It's all so fresh and big and wonderful looking!

I use to pack my kids in the car and go for a Wendy's frosty. Big adventure for us!
